Hi, I’m Kim Do. I launched Tête-A-Tête in 2025 dedicated to empowering and reimagining the mental and emotional well-being of creatives, BIPOC and seekers with resources to navigate society and institutions with intention.
As someone who began my painstaking mental health journey more than 20 years ago, I have first hand experience of what it is like to seek help. I chose to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma, and for better or worse, it’s a lifelong journey of discovery and exploration. I have seen what it’s like to be reluctant to get help and have witnessed the consequences of not getting the right help in critical situations
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, which was approximately 80% white at the time of my upbringing. My family is of Vietnamese descent and suffered from untreated mental illness living through political and violent devastation in their home country.
In my professional career, I’ve worked in industries like beauty, entertainment and finance; I understand the challenges of working within the creative and business sectors.
During difficult times in my personal and professional life, I’ve had the good fortune to be supported by extraordinary mental health and wellness professionals.
In 2020, during the resurgence of BLM, and the Atlanta spa shootings, I founded a global neuro-wellness collective and that helps BIPOC address the connection between mental, emotional, and cognitive health to navigate our complex world by practicing healthy intentional detachment, cultivating self-awareness and self-esteem. My chaotic childhood gave me the insight, wisdom, and empathy to work with others as a mental health advocate, supporting those who feel overlooked, misunderstood and unheard within our society.
I am a creative professional in the entertainment industry and reside in Los Angeles.
